Eleanor Mothersbaugh is a Bandersnatch currently living in the Liverpool Avalon. She once lived in Wonderland but moved to the Avalon with her friend Rupert to escape rural life. Because bandersnatches do not have medallions, Eleanor is considered a Monster and therefore struggles to be accepted and to disprove any misconceptions about her species. Most bandersnatches do not wear clothes, but Eleanor does in an attempt to fit in. Eleanor is exceptional at the game Borogove and often beats her friend Rupert at it. She is a member of the band The Ellipsis and plays drums; she is quite good, despite not having thumbs.
Eleanor has a pet cat called Anyroad, named after an old Wonderlandian saying “When you don’t know where you’re going, any road will take you there.
